"It is better to prevent disease than to cure it."
If the first symptoms have appeared or an illness has already taken hold, acupuncture is effective in the treatment of acute pain. For chronic pain, it is a natural support without side effects that helps reduce the gap and frequency of pain.
During the first consultation, the specialist in Chinese medicine will diagnose your condition and learn about your lifestyle and nutrition. The treatment will be suitable for your case and may be accompanied by moxibustion, Chinese therapeutic massage or vacuum cupping therapy.
If you have a medical file relating to your health problem (containing for example analyzes or x-rays), do not hesitate to bring it with you. It gives a better overview to our specialists.
Following the diagnosis, you will be invited to lie down on the massage table. The acupuncturist will insert very fine and sterilised needles to stimulate your acupuncture reflex points which are selected according to the objectives of your treatment.
Once the needles are in place, you can rest for 20-25 minutes with a relaxing music.
The number of sessions required is determined during your first consultation. The Chinese Medicine specialist will prescribe for you the medicinal herbs and plants if necessary and will give nutritional and lifestyle advices adapted to your case.
Recommendation before and after the acupuncture session
It is recommended to eat a light meal 1h - 1h30 before the session and to not consume alcohol on the day of your appointment.
After the session, it is preferable to take a physical and mental break. For this reason, we are always pleased to offer our customer a cup of tea or warm water after an acupuncture session in our center of Geneva.
