Deep relaxation with Yoga while practicing self-Compassion (in Eng)
The workshop will allow participants to experience complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation with inner awareness. While practicing postures, you will create connection with your your emotions, practice an attitude of an observer and cultivate empathy for others and yourself. These practices are building blocks in creating a powerful positive mindset to further build resilience towards chronic stress and burnout.
Outline of the workshop:
- Specific Yoga postures to release built up tensions and emotional hang-ups
- Pranayama (breathing techniques for deep relaxation)
- Dr. Kristin Neff’s self-compassion test and discussion
- Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation and guided meditation)
Passionate about Yoga and mindfulness and its applications to overall well-being, Aart has spent more than 25 years studying and practicing Yoga and Meditation in India, her home country. Her goal is to give people various tools to improve everyday life while preventing insomnia, chronic stress and burn-out. In her workshops Aarti likes to blend ancient philosophy of Yoga with modern works of Dr. John Kabat-Zinn (father of western understanding of mindfulness), Dr. Marshall Rosenberg (founder of the Center of Non-Violent Communication), and Dr. Kristin Neff (founder of Mindful self-compassion) amongst others.
