Introduction to the basics of Ayurvedic cuisine with Naveen Kumar Gupta

The Ayurvedic system is one of the oldest medicine systems known to humanity. It comes from the Vedic culture that emerged at the foot of the Himalayas and spread along the shores of the great Indian rivers.

Ayurveda advocates a healthy lifestyle based on the constitutional type of each individual. As a result, it teaches us how to create a nutritional program adapted to the needs of each person in order to preserve health and to consider the imbalances.

Prof. Dr. Naveen Kumar Gupta (B.A.M.S. Ind.), recognized as Vaidya and Acharya, brings pure Ayurveda to your kitchen table. The cooking class « Introduction to the basics of Ayurvedic cuisine », will use following means of teaching and practice: short texts on the flip chart, illustrations by drawings and diagrams, demonstrations involving course participants to offer them practical experience of Ayurvedic cooking under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Gupta variety of nutrients, selection of herbs and spices for cooking.

This cooking class is a unique approach, based on wisdom, which vows to the participants’ healthy, energizing and successful lifestyle and shows to its participants a practical experience of the fundamentals of Ayurvedic Nutrition and various combinations of foods that strengthen the health and digestion.

Participants will begin to learn how to plan balanced and nourishing vegetarian meal cooked with cereals, legumes, seeds, dairy products, spices and herbs according to the principles of Ayurvedic nutrition. These include, among other things, the classification of foods according to the five elements and six tastes, as well as particular foods and their effects on the body, mind and spirit through the art of eating: What should we eat? And how? The discussion on the theme of "Anna is Brahma" and "Brahma is Prasada" (‘Anna’ is food, ‘Brahma’ is the supreme deity; so the food is divine) is a specificity of this course.

To participate in this course, no prior culinary or Ayurvedic experience is required. This unique learning process is for people from all spheres of life, enthusiastic about bringing a "Life-Food" lifestyle into their and their family’s daily lives. This interactive seminar offers a transposable teaching for you and your family’s everyday life, as well as for your customers if you are an Ayurveda therapist.
